Final days in Guardiagrele and off to Rome

Goodbye medieval city!
Francesca--she makes the best olive oil anywhere!! Fresh and peppery--throat burn.
Our favourite ferobattuto (blacksmith).
The girls with Miriana--our next door neighbour. Good thing for Facebook.
The soapbox derby in Guardiagrele.
Rome--believe it or not...this is a campsite--our favourite.
At Happy Camping--the girls had fun in the pool each night until it closed.
The Metro in Rome--love the graffitti.
When in Rome....
Fontana di Trevi--yes, we did cast coins over our shoulder to return (in off season!)
Bernini fountain of heat relief!
Survival mode!
Loved the little guy.
It was a bit windy for the fountains.
Michelangeo's Pieta--St. Peter's Basilica.
Holy water at St. Peter's--I love this sculpture.

The girls rubbing and wishing on St. Peter's feet (what's left of them). Sorry for the blur but people were anxiously waiting in line.
St. Peter's.
St. Peter's.
Brass doors to St. Peter's--quite violent when you look closely.

Love the things that make Vatican City its own country!

In St. Peter's courtyard...I have a bit of an addition to taking nun pics.
